A5 Brown Belmont

As mentioned several times previously, I love my Personal Brown Belmont. I bought two when they were discontinued and consider the leather some of the best that Filofax has ever used. It is gorgeous leather which takes a beating and shows not a scratch. It does not have stiffener in the covers and the stitching detail gives it an equestrian look. The brown is the most gorgeous shade.

I sent one of my Personal Brown Belmonts to Laurie to use in the Comparison Project. She loved the binder so much that she bought an A5 in the same model. I happened to tell her that I would love an A5 but they were so hard to find. A day or so later, both Laurie and Anamarija from the Philofaxy Facebook group contacted me to tell me they had found one in the Netherlands.

The seller did not reply to any of my mails and I heard that they often do not as they do not sell abroad or reply to messages in English. I then put out a request for someone from the Netherlands to help and the lovely Kim did everything for me, right down to negotiating a good price.

It arrived yesterday and it is gorgeous. It has never been used and still has the price tag and padding inside the pen loops (yes, there are TWO!). The rings are so firm and tight I just had to take a photograph of it.

So here come the photographs. I must apologise in advance for all photographs taken at this time of year. I live in Stockholm where we veer from twilight to total darkness in December and even in the few hours when it is almost light, the photo quality is not good, particularly as I just use my iPad to take photographs.

I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who helped me get this lovely binder!

  1. What a beauty!!!!!!
I see we share some similarities, our love for filofax and ladybugs! I would have picked this planner also.

  2. Double poppers are wonderful and what a lovely purchase overall!
You can encourage the dent to come out from hiding by applying a slightly damp cheesecloth on top of the dent, then take your steam iron and on the lowest possible setting, steam on top of the dent but DO NOT TOUCH THE LEATHER!!! Instead, start from higher up and keep checking that the leather won´t burn. Then after you feel warm moist has been applied to the leather, rub in some leather creme and leave to cool down. When leather gets moisture, it naturally will start retaking its original state.
