Here is an unveiling of my new Personal Portland Grand in black, from bouteia. This is not the 5/4 which was auctioned yesterday. I bid on that one but my bids were way below the amount it finally went for. This one is marked ‘Grand’ rather than ‘5/4’.

Often, once I have bought from someone a few times I ask them to keep an eye out for items I am looking for. If you are a good customer and don’t take advantage, most shops and online companies are willing to let you know if something you are interested in comes into stock.
As well as this Portland, bouteia also found me a Personal Baroque in black. They were unable to find an A5 Brown Belmont for me but that I sourced (thanks to the help of several Philofaxy community members who knew I was after one) in the Netherlands.
That Portland Grand looks just great, Janet! How big are the pen loops?
They are quite small, unfortunately.
I was watching that Portland 5/4 and was stunned at how much it finally went for. Doubtless at least in part due to your signposting bouteia!
I know what you mean! I was going to bid on the 5/4 but my maximum bid was about half what it went for. This one is a newer version but I am so glad to have it because of the big rings. I think bouteia may unearth a few more so keep your eyes peeled!
Wow! Now those are some big rings for sure 🙂
It just goes to show the benefits of a good customer/seller relationship. Seller has made some good recent sales on ebay and I’m sure your signposting and feedback has helped with that. More of us have had a chance to snare some rare goodies. Everyone benefits. 🙂
