At 11am on 11 November 1918 the First World War came to an end. Today, exactly 93 years later (we began reading at 11.11.11.11.11!) my students and I began an article on Poppy day where Commonwealth countries remembers those who died in battle in WW1. In order to be a world war, fighting has to take place on every continent at the same time. The two world wars took place 21 years apart.
